Companies continuously phase out older electronic devices from their lineup. At one point they just stop getting new updates and that is what Google is doing with one of their older Pixel Watch models right now. One final enhancement is being sent out before they stop maintenance.
Pixel Watch: Original Model Gets Final Update
Google started rolling out their Wear OS 6 update in October for the Pixel Watch 2 and 3. Thanks to this, their wearables got a bunch of exciting upgrades, like smoother system animations thanks to Material 3 Expressive. But their older model, the original Pixel Watch, will also be receiving an upgrade and as Android Police reports, it’ll be the final update for the model.
While the Pixel Watch might not be getting Wear OS 6 like the newer models, there will be a build with firmware version BW1A.251005.003 based on Wear OS 5.1. This upgrade only includes “security updates and bug fixes”, as outlined on the Google Support page.

How to Get Final Update
If you still own one of the original watches, then you should get the upgrade as soon as possible. It’s important to keep your phone as up to date as possible for security reasons. To do so, simply go to Settings → System → System updates. Then you can tap on “Your watch is up to date” to download what you need.
If you want to get any future changes, there won’t be any. Therefore, it is advised to upgrade to a newer model when you have a chance. The Pixel Watch originally launched in 2022 and was promised 3 years of service, which is now over, so this final update comes as no surprise really.
